It was held in Redfern on 29th August and in Bondi on 30th August

The 2014 Sydney Language Festival was held on Saturday 5th July 2014

A language festival is a cultural and educational event held by Esperanto organizations in different countries of the world. The purpose of language festivals is to provide information about as many different languages of the world as possible to people who are interested in languages and show how great is the variety of languages in the world. Language festivals also try to demonstrate that all languages in the world are equally important and valuable and that there should be no “major” and “minor” languages. It is very unfair to judge a language by its number of speakers. Esperanto organisations throughout the world want to promote international communication on an equal footing and want to prevent major languages from swallowing up smaller ones. There is a motto: speak a regional language locally, a national language nationally and an international language internationally.

At Macquarie University, Sydney in Building E7B (T1) and E5A. The first event at 10:30 will be in the building circled with a dark green line, most language presentations will be in the building circled with a light green line.
